Aer Lingus has launched a significant fare sale to popular US destinations, with flights starting from €169 each way. The offer is valid for travel between September 1 and 30, and the sale closes on August 11 at midnight.
Passengers can book discounted flights to major cities including New York, Florida, Chicago, Washington, Boston, San Francisco, and Cleveland. The airline described the deal as an ideal opportunity for travellers to enjoy an affordable trip after the summer holidays.
The airline said in a statement: “Make this September fabulous! USA from €169. USA from only €169 each way, as part of a return trip? Yes, please!”
The sale offers a chance to visit some of America’s most iconic cities at reduced rates.
Alongside the fare sale, Aer Lingus announced a major update to its mobile app, marking a key milestone in the airline’s multi-million euro digital overhaul.
The revamped app aims to deliver a more personalised and seamless travel experience for passengers. It now includes new features designed to make journeys easier, particularly on the day of travel.
Key enhancements include live flight status updates displayed directly on the phone’s lock screen, helping travellers stay informed without opening the app.
Additionally, a new airport wayfinding function has been introduced, allowing users to navigate terminals with greater ease.
The app’s home screen has been redesigned to be more user-friendly and intuitive.
One of the most notable upgrades is a complete rebuild of the “My Trips” section. This area now features a smart travel assistant and provides simpler access to add-ons such as seat upgrades and extra baggage.
Aer Lingus involved over 1,300 customers in developing these improvements through a dedicated research panel, ensuring that the changes meet traveller needs.
Over the past 12 months, the Aer Lingus app has been downloaded by more than 2.2 million users in Ireland and 3.5 million globally.
Downloads have surged by 33% compared to the same period last year, reflecting growing passenger engagement with the app.
In a recent survey involving 5,000 users, nearly 90% rated the updated “My Trips” section with four or five stars, indicating high satisfaction.
Susanne Carberry, Chief Customer Officer at Aer Lingus, said the app upgrade represents more than just a facelift.
She commented: “Aer Lingus’ app upgrade is a major step forward in delivering a smarter, more personalised travel experience for our customers.”
Carberry added: “From real-time updates to in-airport navigation, we’re committed to improving every touchpoint of our customers’ journey.”
The airline emphasised that investing in digital innovation is central to creating the best possible experience for passengers.
Aer Lingus encourages travellers to download the updated app, which is available free of charge on both Android and iOS devices.
The app upgrade coincides with increased demand for international travel, especially to the US, as summer holidays wind down.
With the new features and the current sale, Aer Lingus aims to attract passengers looking for convenience and value.
Passengers interested in the discounted flights must act quickly, as the sale closes in just three days.
The combination of low fares and enhanced digital tools highlights the airline’s focus on customer satisfaction and operational excellence.
Aer Lingus remains committed to making travel easier and more enjoyable for all its customers.
