Starting Friday, October 25, 2024, Aer Lingus will launch a brand-new direct route from Dublin to Malta, operating three times a week as part of its Winter 2024–2025 schedule.

Cork Airport Adds New Summer Route to İzmir, Turkey
Looking ahead to Summer 2025, Cork Airport has announced a new twice-weekly service to İzmir, Turkey, set to run from May through October on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
The service will be operated by SunExpress, a joint venture between Lufthansa and Turkish Airlines, and recently named Europe’s Best Leisure Airline for two consecutive years.
Located on Turkey’s stunning Aegean coast, İzmir is a sun-drenched destination known for its beaches, local cuisine, and cultural treasures—including the world-famous ancient city of Ephesus. The new route from Cork meets growing demand for direct Turkish connections in southern Ireland.
James Lawless TD, Minister of State at the Department of Transport, welcomed the announcement, noting:
“This route strengthens Ireland’s connectivity and offers more travel options from our regional airports. Cork Airport continues to grow impressively, with a 10% increase in passenger numbers this year.”
Niall MacCarthy, Managing Director of Cork Airport, added:
“This marks our ninth scheduled carrier and a new destination in a new country. Cork Airport is Ireland’s fastest-growing airport, and this partnership with SunExpress gives travellers even more flexibility and choice.”
