Aer Lingus has unveiled three new flight routes for the upcoming winter season, offering Irish travellers fresh options for alpine escapes and festive city breaks.
First on the list is Turin, a northern Italian city that will be accessible directly from Dublin. Known as a gateway to the Alps, Turin is a top choice for winter sports enthusiasts, offering access to some of the region’s best ski resorts.
The Italian city is also home to the Museo Egizio — one of the most renowned Egyptian museums in the world — and hosts an annual winter lights festival that draws crowds throughout the colder months.
Cork travellers will also benefit from Aer Lingus’ expanded seasonal offering, with two new winter routes departing from the southern airport.
From 20 December, flights from Cork to Geneva will begin, giving access to Switzerland’s chocolate capital and a hub for Alpine adventures.
The city is expected to feature a range of seasonal attractions, including Christmas markets, winter cruises on Lake Geneva, and public ice skating events.
Geneva’s famed chocolate factories are also a draw for visitors, with many opting to take guided tastings or tours as part of their winter itinerary.
The third route announced is a direct service from Cork to Prague, launching just in time for the Autumn midterm break. The inaugural flight is scheduled for 23 October, giving Irish holidaymakers a new option for an early seasonal getaway to the Czech capital.
Known for its gothic architecture, cosy cafés, and famous Christmas markets, Prague has long been a popular destination for winter travellers seeking a cultural escape.
The newly announced services form part of Aer Lingus’ broader strategy to meet increased winter travel demand and expand connectivity from regional airports.
