Aer Lingus has issued a major alert to its three million AerClub loyalty members, urging them to check their accounts or risk missing out on valuable travel rewards.
According to the Irish airline, AerClub members have already saved over €3 million this year by using Avios—the airline’s reward currency—to book flights.
Beyond flights, Avios can also be used to unlock upgrades, hotel stays, and a variety of travel experiences, Aer Lingus confirmed.
Avios points can be collected not only through flying with Aer Lingus and its partner airlines but also by shopping with affiliated retailers such as Deliveroo, Brown Thomas, ASOS, Booking.com, and more via the AerClub eStore or AerClub Rewards app.
Members can also link their debit or credit cards, including Revolut and the Aer Credit Card, to automatically collect Avios on everyday purchases.
Whether it’s buying a coffee from Jump Juice, booking an Aircoach, or picking up travel essentials from Lifestyle Sports or Skechers, members will earn points on each transaction—bringing them closer to their next trip.
Susanne Carberry, Chief Customer Officer at Aer Lingus, said the airline is committed to providing meaningful rewards for loyal customers.
“All our members can secure discounts through Pay with Avios or redeem Reward Flights,” she said. “From booking flights and upgrading to business class to unlocking unique travel extras, we encourage our members to explore the full potential of Avios and turn their travel dreams into reality.”
AerClub features four tiers—Green, Silver, Concierge, and Platinum—each offering more perks, such as lounge access, fast-track security, extra baggage allowance, and upgrades.
Meanwhile, the airline is promoting a lesser-known benefit that frequent flyers will find particularly helpful, especially for those catching early morning flights.
Aer Lingus is offering an evening bag drop service at three major airports this summer—Dublin, Cork, and Edinburgh—aimed at easing congestion and improving the passenger experience.
With early departures increasingly common, the new service allows travellers to check in their bags the evening before their flight, cutting down on airport queues and stress.
This new perk is ideal for passengers who live near the airport or are staying close by before their flight.
From April to September, travellers departing from Dublin, Cork, or Edinburgh airports can check in online and drop off their bags the night before their scheduled morning flight.
For Dublin Airport, passengers flying between 05:30 and 08:00 can access the evening bag drop between 16:00 and 22:00 on the previous day.
Aer Lingus says the service provides a more relaxed start to the journey and even a chance for a little extra sleep before takeoff.
