Ryanair Passengers Warned of €100 Fine for Late Check-In as Dublin Airport Bus Route Changes

Thousands of Ryanair passengers have been issued an urgent warning regarding a simple check-in mistake that could result in a €100 fine per passenger.

Under Ryanair’s check-in policy, passengers who arrive at the check-in desk less than 40 minutes before their flight’s scheduled departure may face the hefty fine. This strict rule has been implemented to discourage late arrivals and ensure smoother boarding processes.

As many travellers begin booking their upcoming holiday trips, they are urged to be aware of this rule to avoid jeopardizing their vacation plans. To prevent issues, Ryanair advises arriving early, as tasks such as checking in luggage and passing through security may take longer, particularly during peak travel seasons.

Some travellers often arrive closer to departure time, risking fines under Ryanair’s new policy. The airline warns that passengers arriving with less than 40 minutes remaining before their scheduled flight may face a €100 fine for each passenger. During this period, the check-in desk would be closed, and boarding would already be underway, causing potential disruptions.

If a passenger misses their original flight and attempts to book the next available flight, they will be charged the same €100 fee.

Ryanair’s policy states this fee is “only available less than 40 mins before and up to one hour after flight departure time.” The policy also applies to those arriving at the ticket desk up to an hour after departure to move to the next available flight. The fee is charged per passenger and sector.

This new policy follows the previous €55 airport check-in fee for passengers who fail to check in online via the Ryanair app or website before the two-hour cutoff before departure.

To avoid additional costs, Ryanair advises passengers to complete their check-in online and arrive at the airport with sufficient time to spare.

Dublin Airport Bus Service Changes Add to Travel Woes

In addition to the new Ryanair check-in policy, travellers are warned about the recent cancellation of a popular Dublin Airport bus service.

The Aircoach route between Dublin Airport and Bray and Greystones has been discontinued and is now ending at Dalkey. This has created travel complications for passengers heading to Bray and Greystones.

The revised Route 700 will now operate between Dublin Airport and Leopardstown, eliminating stops at Galloping Green, Foxrock, Cabinteely, Cornelscourt, and Cherrywood.

Meanwhile, Route 701 has been renamed 700X and now provides a shuttle service between Dublin Airport and the city centre.

Route 702 has been modified to run between Dublin Airport and Dalkey, passing through notable areas such as 3 Arena, Ballsbridge, St Vincent’s Hospital, Booterstown, Monkstown, Dún Laoghaire, and Dalkey via the Port Tunnel. This revised route will no longer include stops at Loughlinstown, Shankill, Bray, or Greystones.

Aircoach’s managing director, Kim Swan, explained that declining passenger numbers prompted recent changes to the Bray and Greystones sections of the route.
