Austrian Airlines, a part of the Lufthansa Group and Star Alliance, has recently revealed that it will launch a new non-stop flight service from Vienna to Boston.
The service will commence in July 2024 and will be the first direct connection between these two cities. With the launch of this new route, the airline’s intercontinental network will be extended to cover 19 destinations.
The flight will be operated using a Boeing 767-300ER aircraft, which offers 211 seats spread across three classes: business, premium economy, and economy. In business class, passengers can enjoy the “Flying Chef” program, where onboard chefs prepare meals and sommeliers recommend wine pairings.
In addition, the premium economy class offers better amenities, such as more legroom and reclining, compared to the economy class.
The flight schedule is as follows:
- BOS-VIE: Depart at 5:10 p.m., arrive at 7:25 a.m. the next day
- VIE-BOS: Depart at 10:40 a.m. and arrive at 1:40 p.m.
The service will be available on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and every other Tuesday.
Michael Trestl, the Chief Commercial Officer of Austrian Airlines, has announced that Boston will be added to the airline’s list of destinations. Trestl stated that the addition of Boston would strengthen Vienna’s hub and enhance the long-haul offering of Austrian Airlines.
Boston is renowned for its prestigious universities, such as Harvard and MIT, business connections, and charming atmosphere, making it an attractive travel destination. Moreover, this expansion will make travelling to Vienna easier for visitors and tourists from New England.
Boston, Massachusetts’s largest city and capital, is one of the oldest and most historic cities in the United States. It is known for its cultural, educational, and economic influence and rich colonial and revolutionary heritage. Some famous attractions in Boston include the Freedom Trail, Fenway Park, Quincy Market, and the Museum of Fine Arts.
Vienna, the capital and largest city of Austria, is considered one of the most livable cities in the world. Known for its imperial architecture, cultural legacy, and musical heritage, Vienna has several must-see sights. These include the Schönbrunn Palace, St. Stephen’s Cathedral, the Vienna State Opera, and the Belvedere Museum.
The new Vienna-Boston service is an excellent option for those wishing to explore cities and their surroundings comfortably and conveniently. Additionally, travellers can connect to other destinations in Europe and beyond through the Vienna hub. Flight bookings can be made on the Austrian Airlines website or through travel agents.
